Dr Avanthi Wickramasekera

Osteopath
Avanthi is a caring and friendly Osteopath, who is passionate about patient education. She believes that each of her patients should leave their consultation understanding the root cause of their pain and the best management plan for them. By collaborating with her patients to make shared health decisions, she creates individualised treatment and management plans.
Avanthi was drawn to the Osteopathic profession due to its ability to make a difference in people’s lives. This led her to make a career change from Research Science to Osteopathy, graduating from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) double degree.
She has completed further qualifications in Dry Needling and Clinical Pilates and has clinical experience in exercise rehabilitation.
Avanthi is experienced in treating both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. She combines Osteopathic hands-on techniques, exercise prescription and lifestyle advice to build a well-rounded management plan. She also loves working closely with GPs and other Allied Health professionals to help her patients achieve their health goals.
Outside of her treatment room you will find her spending time with her family, which often includes cooking and indulging in traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. Avanthi also loves to catch a movie at the local cinema and puts her artistic skills to practise with sketching and watercolour art.
