Alexandra joined Blackburn Allied Health group after Graduating from NMIT with an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy and Diploma of Remedial Massage in 2013.
Alexandra was drawn to Myotherapy with an interest in health sciences and sports at a young age. She grew up playing Volleyball and represented in State and National levels, her sports career exposed her to the critical role that manual therapy can play for an athletes wellbeing, having dealt with some injuries along the way.
Before studying Myotherapy, she enjoyed working creatively as florist and was able to transfer the caring attitude and hands on skills to a new path.
Since graduating, Alexandra has worked along side allied health practitioners in various clinics across Melbourne.
Alexandra’s experience has allowed her to develop excellent communication and personable skills. She is a caring and holistic therapist with a passion for enhancing the wellbeing of her clients. She incorporates techniques such as Myofascial release, Trigger point therapy, Mobilisation, Dry Needling, Muscle Energy Technique, Lymphatic drainage and Cupping, whilst tailoring treatment to individual needs.
Stretching, corrective exercise and breath work are also utilised in treatment plans to help patients make lasting improvements to their overall health.
Alexandra enjoys treating neck, shoulder and lower back pain, chronic conditions, postural complaints and sports injuries.
Outside of work, Alexandra is kept busy caring for her two young boys. She loves going for walks and being able to connect to nature. When she can get to a Yoga class, she enjoys rolling out her mat for some Yin or Slow Flow.
