We are pleased to welcome Laura Button, Certified Practising Speech Pathologist, to the Blackburn Allied Health Group team.

Laura works with children and families to support speech sound development and early communication skills. Her approach is play based and family centred, with a focus on working alongside parents and carers to support communication goals in everyday routines.

Laura has a particular interest in assessing and supporting children with speech sound difficulties, including articulation, phonological, and motor speech challenges. She values helping families understand their child’s speech profile and providing practical strategies that can be used at home between sessions.

Alongside her clinical work, Laura has experience in research focused on outcomes for children with hearing impairment. She has worked in clinical and leadership roles with Hearing Australia and the National Acoustic Laboratories and contributed to national research projects, including the Longitudinal Outcomes of Children with Hearing Impairment (LOCHI) study. 

Laura holds a Bachelor of Speech Pathology and an MBA from La Trobe University. She lives locally with her husband and four-year-old and enjoys playing hockey in her spare time.
